Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited Continues To Enrich Lives and Encourage and Reward Excellence in Guyana


The award recipients, Ravina Devi Ramesar and Steve Singh with officials of the Ministry of Education, the University of Guyana and Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited

Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited through its Power to Make a Difference initiative held a simple ceremony to honour the recipients of 2011 Republic Bank/University of Guyana Awards.

This partnership which commenced several years ago sought to ignite the potential of Guyana's youth through varying rewards and developmental programmes.

This year's ceremony was held on Friday, January 27, 2011 at the Republic Bank Limited Head Office, Promenade Court, 155-156 New Market Street, Georgetown.

Ms. Ravina Devi Ramesar earned the Republic Bank Limited Chairman's Award for the Best Graduating Student with a Bachelor's Degree in the Faculty of Social Sciences. She received a monetary reward and a plaque.

Mr. Steve Singh received the Republic Bank Limited Award for the Best Graduating Student with a Diploma in Banking and Finance. He also received a monetary reward and a plaque.

The University of Guyana continues to benefit from the Bank's social investment initiatives in areas such as the sponsorship of a student scholarship, subscription to business journals for the University Library and Career Coach which prepares final year students for the working world.

Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited remains focused on the impact of education on national development.

Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited Honours The 'First Born' Babies In Georgetown, Anna Regina, Linden And Berbice For 2012

Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited in keeping with its Mission of supporting communities it serves, welcomed the New Year by recognizing the mothers of the ‘first born’ babies for 2012 in Georgetown, Anna Regina, Linden and Berbice with special RightStart Baby Care Hampers valued at approximately $30,000 each.

The Bank seeks to fulfill its vision of building successful societies through this annual initiative, by giving the 'first born' babies a 'RightStart', with the establishment of Republic RightStart accounts in the respective babies’ names with an opening deposit of $20,000.

The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited express sincere best wishes to each mother, her bundle of joy and the respective families.
