Launch of the Republic Bank ATM at CJIA

LAUNCH OF THE REPUBLIC BANK ATM AT THE CHEDDI JAGAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (CJIA)

Republic Bank is pleased to announce the introduction of the Blue Machine, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) services at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri, East Bank Demerara and Bosai Minerals Group (Guyana) Incorporated, McKenzie Linden.

The ATM facility at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) was officially launched on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 09:00hrs. In a simple ceremony to mark the occasion, Mr. Ramesh Ghir, Chief Executive Officer, CJIA with the assistance of Mr. Edwin H. Gooding, Managing Director, Republic Bank performed the symbolic cutting of the ribbon in acceptance of the Blue Machine.

The Bosai facility was commissioned on Friday, February 13, 2009.

These investments reinforce the Bank’s commitment to continuous customer service and customer service convenience in preparation for the imminent expansion and upgrade of our Electronic Banking Services.

PRESENTATION OF REPUBLIC BANK /UNIVERSITY OF GUYANA AWARDS

Republic Bank Limited announces the winners of their 2008 University of Guyana Awards.

Ms. Khafka K. Alexander has earned the Republic Bank Limited Chairman's Award for the Best Graduating Student with a Bachelor's Degree in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Ms. Kenesha T. Collins received the Republic Bank Limited Award for the Best Graduating Student with a Diploma in Banking and Finance.

A simple ceremony was held, in honour of Ms. Alexander and Ms. Collins, on Wednesday, January 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Republic Bank Limited Promenade Court. The awards included plaques in honour of the awardees and cheques for G$150,000: (One hundred and fifty thousand Guyana dollars) and G$100,000: (One hundred thousand Guyana dollars) respectively.

Congratulations to our RightStart “First Born” Recipients

An exuberant Ms. Shamaina Hubbard gave birth to her first baby, Amelia Hubbard at the Georgetown Public Hospital on New Year’s Day. Amelia arrived at 00:59 hrs. and weighed 3.6kg.

In the county of Berbice, a proud Ms. Omawattie Devi Singh gave birth to her baby girl at 12:15 hrs. at the New Amsterdam Regional Hospital, while, Ms. Yashoda Prashad gave birth to her baby boy at 2:25 hrs. at the Suddie Hospital, in Essequibo.

All mothers and babies are doing well.

Republic Bank has embarked on honoring the “First Born” in each of the three counties for the first time this year and this will become an annual event.  Each mother was presented with a RightStart Baby Care hamper and will be presented with a RightStart Gift Certificate valued at $15,000: which will be used to open a RightStart Account in the baby’s name.
