The Republic Bank Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme started over two decades ago at Republic Bank Limited, Trinidad and Tobago. The programme was designed to offer youths the tools and insights that one can only get on the job and to enable them to be more marketable in their career pursuits.
It is also geared to guide the apprentices through a process of personal and professional development and will include facets that when combined, will teach then valuable skills for professional and social growth.
The Programme was first introduced in Guyana in 2008 and over the past three years sixty-six youths enjoyed the experience of being part of the working world over a seven month period.
The 2011/2012 Programme welcomed a new batch of twenty-six Apprentices who over the next seven months will be exposed to both classroom and on-the-job training. They will also, through the ‘Care-A-Van’ be introduced to the element of care and compassion for the less fortunate. A day of fun and relaxation at a specially selected location will also be part the Youth Link Experience.
