The 18th Republic Bank Mashramani Panorama Steel Band Competition was held on Wednesday, February 19, 2026, at Kingston Beach, Georgetown. Steelpan enthusiasts gathered to enjoy the vibrant sounds and spirited competition of thirteen bands in the Large Band, Youth Band and newly introduced School Band categories.
Hosted annually, the event highlights the passion, artistry, and dedication of local musicians, attracting spectators from across the country to celebrate this distinctive musical tradition.
Through its “Power to Make a Difference” initiative and in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited remains committed to ensuring the continued sustainability and growth of the steelpan art form.
Over the past eighteen (18) years, young people have developed a deeper appreciation for steelpan music and have become increasingly active in their respective school bands. This growing interest is reflected in the steady rise in youth participation and the introduction of a dedicated school bands category within the competition.
This year’s competitors delivered captivating and thrilling performances, demonstrating their exceptional skill and musical talent leaving the audience thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

• 1st St. Stanislaus College and President’s College
• 2nd Dolphin Secondary School
• 3rd Tutorial High School
Youth Bands
• 1st Place – Buxton Pride Steel Orchestra
• 2nd West Demerara Secondary School and Kunjaz Youth Band
• 4th – Guyana Police Force B Division Youth Band
Large Bands
• 1st Place - Kunjaz Steel Orchestra
• 2nd Place –Parkside Steel Orchestra & Guyana Police Force Steel Band
Additional participants in the School Band category included North Ruimveldt Multilateral, while the Youth Band category featured The Bishops’ High School – New PanWave Project Steel Fusion.
The first Republic Bank sponsored competition was in 2009 and has grown over the years. The Bank’s passion for pan development in Guyana, focuses on providing avenues for the empowerment for our nation’s youth, while sustaining national art forms and our cultural heritage.
